Position description:

We are looking for a PhD or an engineer with experience (2-4 years) in developing robust and reliable software for embedded systems. You will play a key role in designing and implementing the software stack that powers our next-generation onboard computing systems.

In this role, you will contribute to the development of flight software and data handling applications for spacecraft missions. Your work will focus on embedded software development and the testing and validation of such software.

You will join our early team and help shape both our products and our long-term vision

Key responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and maintain embedded software for spacecraft onboard computers
  • Implement and optimize low-level software modules on Linux kernels and real-time operating systems
  • Develop software with high reliability requirements, using embedded languages such as C/C++, Rust, or Ada
  • Participate in software testing, debugging, and qualification for space environments
  • Contribute to technical project management, including requirement analysis, documentation, and risk tracking
  • Contribute to ITT and proposal responses, including system architectures, compliance matrices and technical content
  • As an early team member, contribute to product roadmap decisions and help shape Coros Space’s long-term software strategy

Required skills:

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in computer science, embedded systems, aerospace engineering or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of experience in embedded software development (C++/Linux), with familiarity in RTOS or RTEMS and modern CI/CD workflows.
  • Knowledge of safety-critical and fault-tolerant design principles, including determinism, redundancy, and reliable programming practices (Rust or Ada is a plus).
  • Awareness of space avionics standards and protocols (ECSS, PUS-C, CSP, etc.) and ability to work in multidisciplinary environments typical of a fast-growing startup
